The internet provides exciting opportunities for scholars of Japanese media. Fans from all over the world, who passionately collect, order and share information about their hobby online. In this workshop we welcome some members and operators of fan-based databases to discuss the potentials for research and the opportunities for collaboration, but also we will talk about challenges which come up when using data from fan-based databases.
